RCE Berhad is a major non-financial institution player in the credit cooperative market. It is part of the Amcorp group; an investment holding company in Malaysia with a major focus in the financial services market.
The nature of RCE’s operations involve financial lending to government employees in Malaysia. Employees then repay loans through deductions from their payroll. This model consists of fairly secure loans and a low default (NPA) rate. It reaches out to prospects through sales agents across Malaysia.
Loan management for RCE was facilitated by gathering data from multiple sources from its operational units, processing data, integrating information into a unified data warehouse, and creating metrics that are useful for business users. This consolidated view was injected into CUBOT front-end for analytics and reporting for business users.
By using data more effectively, customer service can be improved through more efficient operations that make the loan application process smoother by faster transfer to credit processing officers, and faster disbursement of loans once approved.
Through the use of service level information such as feedback and email/chat transcripts – a bank can ideally reach an even higher level of service quality.
Data on approved vs rejected loans, predictive indicators for successful applicants, and other inputs can lead to faster credit processing operations – which can encourage the applicant to make the decision and go for the loan. It also means officers are more productive through the use of more meaningful information to assess loan risks.
Information on applicants can led to better insights where loan applications were coming from, which locations had better approvals, and therefore where good sales prospects could be targetted. Targeting means greater efficiency of sales teams and results directly in revenue growth as well.
Loan collections teams were able to understand workflow information to follow up on arrears and late payments. Dues could be categorized to prioritize workflow and also ensures that the information is accurate and up to date as data has been refreshed and is therefore the current status.
